Herm and his older brother Ralph took a leisurely one week trek in the Sequoia National Park backcountry, accessed by way of Mineral King. The brothers camped above the waters of lower Franklin Lake, then climbed over their highest pass yet on the way to a few days and nights along the shores of pretty Forester Lake. In the end, they returned the way they came, and were richer for the experience.
